Cedaroak Park Primary has adopted the Lake Oswego’s Art Literacy Program to acquaint students with art from around the world each year. Within the span of about an hour, students have the opportunity for discussion and inquiry as well as a hands-on art project. This is accomplished through video and volunteer led components.
The curriculum is created by the LOSD Art Literacy Advisory Board and is organized by volunteer “coordinators”. Coordinators recruit and train classroom volunteers to deliver the individual classroom lessons. Volunteers are provided training and all the materials needed to succeed in their role. The program is generously funded by the Cedaroak PTA.
The elementary program contains four units within the school year. These units are selected to represent a diverse range of artists, art types, and cultures. Each year the Board creates or refreshes five units. This means every active unit is less than two years old. The curriculum also has K-2 and 3-5 versions so volunteers can present the appropriate level material to each age group.

- January 5 – February 5 Korean Minwha Folk Art
- February 8 – March 31 Frida Kahlo
- April 1 – May 28 Northwest Coast Native Art
