We would like to invite you to join our Cedaroak Park Curriculum Night on Thursday night 9/18 from 6:00pm – 7:00pm. Curriculum night is an opportunity for you to meet the teacher, learn about the curriculum we use, and the standards that will be covered at your child’s grade level.  The teachers can also share with you their classroom expectations, opportunities for volunteering, and best ways to communicate with each of them. 

This is different from conferences, which will be in October. This night is an overview of the school year, setting everyone up for success, and won’t include individualized student check-ins. If you want to speak with the teacher about how your child is doing we encourage you to reach out to them separately from this event. 

On this night, you can drop in anytime between 6:00pm and 7:00pm, and your child will guide you through their classroom, and the school, to show you what their experience is like here each day. A few teachers will be sharing information to a whole group at a set time in their classrooms. Please keep an eye out for specific information from your child’s teacher, so you don’t miss out.

Safety Note: It is important that families stay together for this special event. Children seen without an adult will be asked to return to their families. The playground will be closed to unsupervised children for everyone’s safety.

What is the Community Fair?

It is an opportunity to learn about the many different things happening in our school and community. The fair is in the gym and will be open from 6:00pm – 6:30pm. You can start at any table and work your way around the room, visiting the different information spots along the way.  You can see what your child is learning in Music, Health/PE, and during their Library time. You will hear from different community organizations and CREST is hosting a tasting table. Lots of fun for everyone!

What if I have more than one child attending Cedaroak?

Great! We are trying out this drop-in style to make it easier for you to visit every child’s classroom. We hope that during the hour you have time to experience all the classrooms your children attend. Please remember to keep all of your kids together for the whole event. I am certain the kids will LOVE getting to see their sibling’s classrooms and see what they are learning about. 

When am I supposed to arrive?

This is a drop in event and you can arrive anytime starting at 6:00pm, knowing that we will be wrapping the event at 7:00pm. (I would arrive by at least 6:45pm so that you have time to visit the classroom before we close up for the night. If you are planning on walking through our Community Fair then you would want to arrive before 6:30pm.

How will I know where to go?

Your child is your guide. This will be a great opportunity for your child to show you around the classroom and school. We will have adults available to answer questions if anyone is unsure where to go.
